Moodle for Water Engineering

eMWRE is an Erasmus+ project that will essentially connect universities from the MENA region to European institutions, creating synergies that will lead to the deployment of an eMaster on Water Resources’ Engineering.

The motivation for eMWRE is linked to a very real problem that Middle East and North Africa (MENA) face. MENA is one of the most water scarce region in the world and has been identified as priority region for urgent water interventions by many organisations worldwide.

MENA region is highly vulnerable to climate change, water quality degradation, droughts and floods. Consequently, the region faces numerous threats to its economic, social and environmental sustainability, including energy, water, and food security. In many areas in the world, conflicts are arising about the use and ownership of water and the recent migrant crisis is exacerbating the problems. eMWRE is actively working towards changing this situation.

We are thrilled to be working with Vrije Universiteit BrusselIHE DElft Institute on Water EducationAl-Quds UniversityMutah UniversityIslamic University of Gaza and of course our meeting host, University of Jordan, for the next 36 months!

In the context of eMWRE, Open Technologies and Open Source Software will be utilised and in this context, Eummena will be offering Moodle to host the eCourses, eContent and other resources that will be used in eMWRE.

We’ll be reporting back with more exciting news as eMWRE work progresses!

For now, you can join eMWRE on Twitter, and stay tuned for our other social media accounts: https://twitter.com/EmwreErasmus
