We are currently seeking a talented junior PHP Developer with a strong focus on frontend to join our dynamic team in Greece. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of PHP for backend services but will be primarily focused on frontend development tasks. 

Your key responsibilities

As a frontend PHP developer you will be part of our Moodle devops squad for implementing online learning platforms, including design and custom development of new Moodle plugins, integrations, and extensions. You will be involved in every stage of our agile development process, from conceptualisation, prototyping, development, testing, documentation, implementation, and supporting our products with our customers. This role requires both strong technical skills and the ability to work collaboratively within an international team. Your main responsibilities on a daily basis include:

  •  Work collaboratively with the UI/UX team to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
  • Ensure cross-browser compatibility and optimize frontend performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Collaborate with the DevOps team as well as with Eummena’s clients to analyse new features and arrive at an optimal solution for their implementation.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our applications remain cutting-edge.

Your profile

Essential qualifications and skills:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent qualifications in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar disciplines is important, while not mandatory.
  • Proven experience as a PHP Developer of at least 2 years, preferably attested by contributions to Github repositories.
  • Strong proficiency in Javascript, JQuery, Ajax, Bootstrap, CSS, and SASS.
  • Experience with frontend frameworks and libraries (e.g., React, Vue.js, Angular).
  • Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
  • Solid understanding of responsive design principles.
  • Excellent communication skills, fluency in the English language, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts, problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Fast learner, comfortable working in a highly agile, competitive, and distributed team.

Appreciated qualifications:

  • Experience with Moodle, including development of new plugins and integration with other systems is a plus.
  • Experience in basic Linux shell commands is a plus.
  • Experience in e-learning with Moodle specialization.
  • Knowledge of Arabic, Dutch, or French (verbal and written). 
  • Self-motivated, with strong organizational skills and an inclination towards communication, inclusion, and visibility.
